The FortiGate 201F is a 1U rack-mount next-generation firewall built for mid-sized enterprises, branch offices, or distributed sites. It delivers balanced firewall, VPN and security-inspection performance in a compact form factor, with multi-gigabit / SFP and SFP+ connectivity and integrated SSD storage — offering a flexible and capable security gateway under FortiOS.
Ideal deployment / environment
The FG-201F is well suited for branch offices, regional campuses, or mid-size enterprise WAN edges that need a mix of firewall, VPN, and UTM services without over-provisioning capacity. Its balance of throughput, VPN capacity and interface flexibility makes it a practical choice for site-to-site connectivity, secure Internet uplinks, small data-centre edges, or distributed-site security consolidation. It also fits use as an SD-WAN gateway or remote-site firewall when combined with Fortinet’s security services and management tools.

Interface mix: 16 × 1 GbE RJ45 ports, 8 × 1 GbE SFP slots, 4 × 10 GbE SFP+ slots (2 usable as FortiLink), plus management, HA, console and USB ports. Onboard 480 GB SSD for logging/analytics/storage.
