The MX304 is a 2U universal-edge router built on Juniper’s Trio 6 silicon and running Junos OS. It delivers up to 4.8 Tbps of system capacity, with redundant routing engines, power supplies and front-to-back cooling. The chassis supports modular interface cards (MIC/LMIC), enabling a strongly flexible port configuration from 10 GbE up to 400 GbE, and making MX304 a highly scalable, multiservice edge platform.
Ideal deployment / environment: The MX304 is ideal as a universal-edge or metro-aggregation router for service providers, data-centre operators, or large enterprises requiring high throughput, interface flexibility and carrier-class reliability. It fits business-edge, broadband aggregation, mobile or cable backhaul, data-centre interconnect (DCI), or metro Ethernet roles.
MX304 works well in cloud, multi-tenant, broadband-access and peering environments. The compact 2U chassis supports high-capacity deployment in dense data-centre racks, regional aggregation sites and service-provider central offices.
