Both run the same operating system with the same feature set but differ in port mix. The CX8325-32C has 32 ports all running at 100GbE, suited to spine and core roles. The CX8325-48Y8C has 48 ports at 25GbE and 8 ports at 100GbE — suited to aggregation or top-of-rack roles where servers connect at 25G and uplinks run at 100G.

Does the HPE Aruba CX 8325 Series require cloud management to operate?

No. The HPE Aruba CX 8325 Series is fully manageable on-premises via CLI, web interface, and REST API. HPE Aruba Networking Central is optional and provides cloud-based visibility and monitoring when needed. Aruba NetEdit, which enables automated configuration and compliance checking across multiple switches, requires a separate licence and is available for on-premises use.
