The Juniper MX104 is a modular universal-edge router delivering up to 80 Gbps of system throughput, with four fixed 10-GbE ports and four Modular Interface Card (MIC) slots for flexible port expansion. It runs on the Junos OS with the Trio chipset, offering high availability and carrier-grade functionality for enterprise WAN, metro-edge or mobile/backhaul applications.
Ideal deployment / environment: The MX104 is optimal as a universal edge or aggregation router for enterprise WANs, metro-edge networks, mobile backhaul, or ISP/service-provider access layers. Its modular design and MIC-slot flexibility make it suitable for business broadband aggregation, central-office edge routing, and metro Ethernet deployment where a balance of throughput, interface flexibility and reliability is required.
