The Juniper MX2020 Universal Routing Platform is a high-capacity, modular core and edge router designed for service provider, cloud and large enterprise networks that require massive throughput, flexible port scaling and advanced services.
Built on Juniper’s programmable Trio chipset and running Junos OS, the MX2020 delivers up to 80 Tbps of system forwarding capacity in a modular 24-slot chassis. It supports high-density line cards spanning 10 GbE, 40 GbE, 100 GbE and 400 GbE, alongside rich routing, MPLS, EVPN-VXLAN, segment routing and timing features tailored for demanding IP transport, data-centre interconnect and broadband edge applications.

The MX2020 is ideal for core, backbone and metro aggregation roles in environments that require extreme throughput and port density combined with protocol-rich services. Its high Tbps capacity and modular interface options make it suitable for IP/MPLS core networks, data-centre interconnect, broadband edge and wholesale peering fabrics where service scale, resiliency and high availability are essential.
