The Juniper MX480 Universal Routing Platform is a high-performance, modular edge and core router designed to deliver scalable and resilient IP services for service provider, cloud and large enterprise networks.
Built on Junos OS and driven by Juniper’s programmable Trio chipset, it supports rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing, MPLS, QoS and advanced services such as EVPN-VXLAN and segment routing in a high-density modular chassis. With flexible interface options spanning 1 GbE to 100 GbE and redundant control and power planes, the MX480 provides robust performance and service flexibility for demanding network environments.
Ideal deployment / environment:
The MX480 is suited for edge and core IP routing, aggregation and peering in service provider and enterprise networks that require high throughput, flexible port configurations and support for advanced routing and metro services.
