IOT

Internet of Things (IoT)

The internet of things (IoT) are interrelated computing devices able to transfer data over a network without human interference. Conservative estimates predict that these devices will top 75 billion by 2025 with companies looking to use them to manage sustainability. Smart sensors can be installed into offices to regulate energy consumption and adjust to environmental conditions to create greener workplaces. IoT is particularly profitable in fields where fast development and quality assurance are critical to business success and companies have started to leverage intelligent machines in plant-based environments to increase uptime and optimise operations. Utility companies are currently using the deployment of Industrial IoT (IoTT) to check for power outages and restoration of power through smart meters, while IIoT have also been used to improve roadway safety and traffic congestion.

However, deploying IIoT at scale isn’t easy. It requires managing countless devices which can create potential blind spots with increased security risks, while harsh environments in which these sensors are deployed can effect their reliability. Fortunately, Steel City Consulting partner with leading vendors who are able to provide a secure and dependable portfolio of products able to meet complex operational and industrial requirements. We have outlined these products and our leading manufacturers for IIoT devices below. Click on any of the links to find out more information.
