The sustainability of the IT channel is a major concern with electrical waste equipment increasing in volume at three times the rate of average waste growth in the UK and a large proportion of this equipment destined for a landfill. Statistically speaking it is overwhelmingly more likely for a UK business to have an employee set about perfectly good but an aging piece of hardware with hammers than it is for it to be collected, reused and recycled.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference highlighted the threat us humans pose to our planet and environmental concerns are more prevalent than ever before. WE INDEPENDANTLY REFURBISH IT HARDWARE

HARDWARE REFURBISHMENT

As well as promoting certified refurbished programmes we also independently refurbish IT hardware so that our machines and components perform almost identical to new hardware. We offer warranty of any equipment we independently refurbish and can provide a detailed report which calculates the optimum hardware solutions for energy usage over time. When it is time to dispose of your decommissioned IT equipment, we will do so in an environmentally friendly manner that is fully compliant with the Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.

POSITIONED TO SUPPORT THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

FLEXIBLE LEASING

Leasing is well positioned to support the ‘circular economy’ as the leasing company retains ownership of an asset through its lifecycle and at the end of the lease the leasing company recovers the asset minimising its environmental impact. Furthermore, companies who use our flexible finance solutions can spread the cost over several years and with interest rates as low as 0% this helps to maintain cashflow and kick-start projects that otherwise be scrapped due to a lack of funding.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

Steel City Consulting are passionate about reducing the environmental footprint of our packaging and making progress towards our goal of being a net zero company. To ensure we can achieve this we are optimising our packaging efficiency by re-using packaging and minimising non-renewable materials as well as single-use plastics and foam. Where possible we drop ship directly to our customers instead of bringing the goods into our office reducing the number of miles the equipment will undertake before it arrives with the end user.
