Higher device density and increasing traffic at the edge require more performance and flexibility than basic access switches can provide. Limited scalability can lead to earlier hardware replacement. The HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series addresses this with stackable switching, higher throughput, and modular uplinks, supporting growing environments without redesign.

They are deployed in access and aggregation layers supporting users, wireless, and uplinks. These switches extend deployment lifespan, reduce upgrade frequency, and maintain consistent performance as demand increases.

Designing & Supporting HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series Solutions

Backed by decades of expertise in the IT sector, our specialists support every stage of your deployment — from initial selection through to long-term lifecycle management.

  • Tailored Switch Selection: Our specialists evaluate your network environment from the ground up — port density, uplink requirements, PoE budgets, VLAN complexity, and throughput demands all considered before a recommendation is made. Whether you’re refreshing an office access layer, connecting a factory floor, or building out a data centre fabric, you get the right switch for your environment, not an over-engineered or underpowered compromise.
  • Deployment & Integration: Our engineers manage end-to-end switch installation and network integration — cabling infrastructure, stack configuration, inter-VLAN routing, and integration with existing firewalls, wireless controllers, and management platforms — fully configured and tested so your team inherits a working network from day one.
  • Network Visibility & Security: Choosing the right management software and licensing is critical to getting full value from your switching infrastructure. Our specialists help you identify the right vendor platform for your needs — covering network-wide visibility, switch management, security monitoring, and analytics and reporting.

  • Industrial & Harsh Environments: Our team has hands-on experience deploying managed switches in demanding conditions — production facilities, outdoor enclosures, transportation infrastructure, and sites with extreme temperature, vibration, or dust exposure. We specify and commission ruggedised switching hardware built to perform where standard office-grade equipment would not.
  • Data Centre & High-Density Switching: Our consultants provide specialist guidance on spine-leaf architectures, 25/100GbE deployments, low-latency fabrics, and ToR switching configurations — helping your team build scalable, resilient data centre networks without starting the design process from scratch.
  • Lifecycle Support & Management: We provide proactive switch monitoring, firmware management, and support packages built around your network infrastructure — with remote diagnostic capability and response times matched to the criticality of each environment, from a branch office to a production data centre.
  • Strategy & Roadmapping: Our consultants run structured sessions to assess your current network architecture, identify bottlenecks and risk, and produce a clear switching roadmap — whether you’re consolidating a multi-site estate, planning a data centre refresh, or introducing managed switching to an industrial environment for the first time.

HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series FAQ

What distinguishes the CX 6300F, CX 6300M, and CX 6300L within the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series?

The HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series contains three sub-lines. The CX 6300F is a fixed Layer 3 switch with built-in uplinks. The CX 6300M uses modular uplink slots, allowing uplink type and speed to be changed without replacing the switch. The CX 6300L is Layer 2 only and does not support BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, VRF, or OSPF — routing is handled upstream.

Does the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series require cloud management, or can it run on-premises?

Both options are available. HPE Aruba Networking Central provides cloud-based management with AI-assisted monitoring and unified wired and wireless visibility. On-premises management is supported via CLI, web GUI, REST API, and HPE Aruba Networking Switch Multi-Edit Software. Organisations can use either model independently or in combination.

What PoE options are available across the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series?

PoE is available in IEEE 802.3bt Class 4 (30W), Class 6 (60W), and Class 8 (90W) configurations depending on model. Class 6 and Class 8 models use HPE Smart Rate multi-gigabit downlinks (1/2.5/5/10GbE) and support high-power devices including Wi-Fi 7 access points. Non-PoE SFP+ models are available for aggregation and data centre top-of-rack roles.

How does the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series support stacking across distributed campus locations?

VSF stacking supports up to 10 members and presents the group as a single managed unit. CX 6300F and CX 6300M models can be mixed in a stack; CX 6300L switches only stack with other CX 6300L units. Long-range 10GbE or 25GbE transceivers allow stacks to span across campus buildings, with chain or ring topology supported.

How is security enforced across the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series?

All models support MACsec 256-bit encryption at the data link layer. CX 6300F and CX 6300M models support Dynamic Segmentation, which applies user-, device-, and application-aware policies across wired infrastructure using VXLAN and BGP EVPN. The Network Analytics Engine monitors traffic in real time and can quarantine devices automatically when policy violations are detected.

Where does the HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series sit within the broader HPE Aruba CX switching portfolio?

The HPE Aruba CX 6300 Series sits in the mid-range of the CX portfolio, above the access-focused CX 6100 and below the high-density aggregation and core switches in the CX 6400 and CX 8000 lines. It covers access and aggregation roles in enterprise campus and branch environments, and includes a data centre top-of-rack configuration for 1GbE server connectivity and out-of-band management.
